Strategy
The promotion of the European Parliament’s statute through the case of the disabled MEP Stelios Kympouropoulos posed a significant challenge for the B2Square team. This was a unique situation, as Kympouropoulos was elected with a record-breaking 577,114 votes, the highest number ever received by a Greek MEP.
Our selection was made after successfully participating in a spec.
Our role was crucial as the communication department and the link between the Greek and Brussels teams.
As a new MEP, Stelios Kympouropoulos faced many challenges that required specialized communication management. Our first objective was to establish effective communication within the team. Publicizing his political actions required coordinating a large group of people with diverse job descriptions and responsibilities. We successfully managed this by overseeing the entire project and acting on multiple levels to ensure synchronization and efficiency.
Our team crafted short and engaging tweets, informative Facebook posts, targeted LinkedIn updates, cool Instagram content, witty Instagram stories, comprehensive newsletters, quality subtitles, videos, and Q&As.
We produced press releases and provided advice on effectively informing the public about upcoming actions. Our creative writers conducted a sociological study of the phenomenon. They developed a monthly calendar of communication actions and posts, giving a structured rhythm to the overall monthly plan for the entire political office.
Performance Ads
Our tasks included creating performance ads and covering political initiatives, actions of European scope, webinars, conferences, and social work, all under the scrutiny of a critical question:
To advertise or not to advertise?
When does a political action merit advertising? What are the risks involved in disseminating to an unknown audience?
Targeted digital advertising for a political figure requires specialized technical skills and knowledge, strict compliance with social media regulations regarding political topics, and strategic selection of advertised content.
Photo Organization
As you may have often heard us say, content is the most important element in promoting and advertising a brand or a person. A politician, in particular, needs official professional photos that can be used in press packs, media kits, social media, and interviews in both online and traditional media.
European Live Streaming Webinar
The tenure of the European Parliament began in 2019, with a significant portion overlapping with the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the closures, the need for political action persisted. The European Parliament may have been physically closed, but Europe’s political efforts continued online. Each MEP, depending on their assigned dossiers, had to continue informing and educating the citizens of Europe. In this context, we organized webinars covering various themes such as employment, local government, disability, cancer and oncological care, and the caring profession.
We undertook and successfully executed all the necessary tasks to organize our webinars, including project management, designing posters and banners, coordinating team roles, language and sign language translators, maintaining schedules, providing technical support, and live streaming across multiple platforms.
Additionally, we took on the responsibility of digitally reaching out to potential participants through targeted advertising, which required special accreditation from the European Parliament due to the topics’ sensitive social and political nature.
The results consistently justified the dedication and efforts of our entire team.
YouTube Live Broadcast
In the context of designing a communication policy for a young MEP, a YouTube show called “The Meetings” played a crucial role. This show premiered live and was streamed via the politician’s personal YouTube channel and other social media platforms. It addressed relevant social issues concerning youth and society at large. Each episode featured guests from both domestic and international political and scientific communities.
Award
After four consecutive years of political service, the culmination was the prestigious award that filled the entire team, including parliamentary partners and our communication team, with pride.
